BlackBerry OS 6.0 will be out soon-in June or July-according to an AT&T contact who gave the folks at BGR an early demo and some screenshots. So far, 6.0 is looking really solid. The browser now has tab switching and multitouch. That's right; multitouch! RIM has fully embraced touchscreens in this new incarnation of BlackBerry OS.

The media player has also been revamped for finger-browsing. RIM has added in system-wide kinetic scrolling with rubberbanding, as well as system-wide multitouch (with pinch zoom!). The inbox has been changed up and netted a rave review from BGR. There will also be modal popups with gestures. If you tap and hold, you'll see a 9 icon group window with options for things like sending an email or forwarding an attachment in a text.

More pictures and information are available in BGR's report. OS 6.0 is only a few months away, so it won't belong before we'll all have a chance to play with RIM's new creation.
