According to Netbooknews.de (via BGR), Asus may be working on a whole new sort of tablet. This slate (different from the Eee Pad that's already been confirmed) is said to pack a Core i5 or i7 processor. It will ship with Windows 7.

A tablet with a Core iX processor would be operating on a whole different level from every device currently on the market. A 1 GHz SOC or a 1.6 GHz Atom are both seriously anemic compared to an i5 or an i7. Of course, any tablet with a Core iX driving it is going to have terribly low battery life. Unless Asus has one hell of a trick up their sleeve.

This rumored tablet is said to resemble the WePad (above). It is expected to cost around $750.
