Apple has yesterday announced the details of WWDC 2010. The Apple developer conference will start on June 7th. It is expected that Apple will unveil the new iPhone 2010 at the conference like they did in the past.
Mashable reports that their sources say that Apple will actually put the new 4th generation iPhone right away on sale after the announcement.

This would be a first, as in the past years we had to wait several weeks until the new iPhone was shipping.
That the new iPhone 2010 aka iPhone 4G aka iPhone HD would launch in June is also supported by an earlier rumor that AT&T blocked vacations for employees in June.
