Philips joins OLED/EL Display Race

Philips Research Laboratories presents a 13" high-polymer organic electro-luminescence (EL) panel

The Philips Research prototype of a high-polymer organic EL panel has 576 x 324 pixels and a luminance of 150cd/m2. Philips target is a 30" WXGA television with 1,365 x 768 pixels.

The Philips OLED panel prototype will be shown at the Society for Information Display's International Symposium (SID) in Seattle from May 23rd to 28th.

Last week we reported about Seiko Epson presenting a 14" OLED panel they used to stich together a 40" TV. Also Samsung went public with a 17" EL display.
