HUGE news from Digitimes. They report that Lenovo will now be launching the Skylight netbook and U1 Hybrid at the end of this year. Expect to see both devices show up during the holiday shopping season. They're being retooled now to handle the Android OS and pack a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor.

The model numbers given for the U1/Skylight processors match the rumored model numbers for the dual-core processor samples Qualcomm is believed to have recently sent out. Earlier rumors put the processor speed at 1.2 GHz, which means we could be looking at two different speeds.

In that case, it seems likely that the MSM8260 is the 1.2 GHz processor, while the MSM8660 packs 1.5 GHz. It's possible that the Skylight could use the slower processor while the U1 takes the more powerful chip.
