Silicon Valley Start-up Akimbo introduces a service to display video content downloaded from internet services.

Akimbo tries to make it easy to watch downloaded video from the internet with their setop box and service. There are other solutions to watch downloaded video on a TV already, like a range of wireless DVD Player on the market.

The Akimbo Box has a 80GB hard-drive and pre-configured internet sources for video like CinemaNow and does not need PC. It comes with monthly subscription that provides a updated Media Guide, similar to a TiVo TV Guide.
The Akimbo Box sells for $229.99 at Amazon.com. Monthly subscription is $9.99. The service starts September 31st. More details on Akimbo.
