The Motorola Droid took the world by storm, and quickly became the best-selling Android smartphone on the market. Now the sequel is gearing up to hit. Android and Me reports that the Droid 2 will launch on August 23rd with a host of cool features. Expect a 1 Ghz processor and 512 MB of RAM, plus 8 GB of internal storage. It will run the Motoblur UI.

As a result of the August launch date, the Droid 2 is expected to hit with Android 2.2. Odds are it will cost $199 with a 2-year contract, the same as almost every other high-end smartphone out there. If you just can't wait for the Droid 2 to launch, I'd recommend dropping $29.99 on this dummy version of the phone.
