As covered on I4U, several new small 5GB iPod mini competitors appeared on the market.

The Rio Carbon, Creative Zen Micro and Dell Pocket DJ amongst others.

Those new MP3 Players offer 1GB more storage than the iPod mini, but are they a better choice?

This question answers Walter Mossberg in a recent review. He critizes the Rio Carbon, Creative Zen Micro and the Dell Pocket for their user interface and the hassle to upload music files. His verdict is that the Apple iPod mini is still the better choice.
