Don't Miss: This How to find Fingerlings in Stock

According to an article in the LA Times Tivo, the most successful Personal Video Recorder in the USA, will show commercial during fast forwarding.

Beginning next March, Tivo users will see banners during fast forward that are interactive. Clicks the user on them the users contact info is transferred to the advertiser. Later in 2005 Tivo will also directly offer products for purchase.
Well that is a dramatic shift. If they do this Tivo should at least kill the monthly fee.
I had a ReplayTV 5000, that jumped over commercials when I was living in the States. That was great! Now living in Germany I got me the Schneider Prime-Timer II. Which is actually made by a now bancrupt company, but another company picked up the pieces and maintains the EPG service that actually downloads via a cable channel. The Prime-Timer II with a 80GB is selling pretty cheap at 300 Euros, and there is no monthly fee. And of course no commercials.
