Sony UK announces new lightweight Sony VAIO FS Series notebook that use the new Intel 915 motherboard chipset supporting PCI Express.

The Register reports that Sony UK seems to have jumped the gun on this announcement as Intel did not officially announce the new Centrino and 915 chipset, which they are supposedly have planned for this week.

The new Sony VAIO FS Series feature multiformat Double Layer DVD and Widescreen displays enhanced with new generation exclusive Sony X-black LCD technology. Several models offer superior graphics performance powered by NVidia® GeForce™ 6200 Go silicon and NVidia TurboCache™ architecture. The slim design gets the weight down to 2.8kg with still having a 15.4inch screen.
