The iPod mini rumors proved to be true, at least somewhat and Apple released new 6GB iPod mini music players today.

The new iPod mini features a 6GB hard-drive, but no color screen. The battery life got extended to 18 hours. The new iPod mini players come in blue, gree, pink and silver. The icons on the iPod mini click wheel match now the case color. The 4GB model colors are the same as the 6GB iPod colors. So also the 4GB player is updated now and features the better battery life.

The 6GB iPod mini is selling for $249.00. The prices for the 4GB iPod mini got lowered to $199.00. I wonder what discounts stores will give on the old 4GB iPod mini.
More details at the Apple iPod mini site.

With not introducing a color screen on the iPod mini, Apple leaves the door open for competing players with color screen like the iRiver H10.
