It is past midnight on the east coat of the United States and the first US Sony PSPs are sold for instance at Sony Plaza on Madison Avenue.

Sony hosts a PSP party in New York City to kick off sales at midnight. Some Best Buy would open two hours early for the PSP release.

Sony said 1 million Sony PSPs are available at Retailers nation-wide. Sony's goal is to sell 3 million Sony PSP's world-wide by March 31st. Sony already sold 1.2 million Portable Playstations in Japan.
