Nintendo Revolution Details from E3 Conference

Photos of the Nintendo Revolution have already been leaked before the Nintendo E3 press-conference in LA.

The Nintendo Press conference started about 45 minutes late. I am watching the live coverage on IGN.

The conference has started. Read below my live transcript.

First Highlight, Nintendo announces Gameboy micro!
Second Highlight, Nintendo Revolution is a virtual game console, playing any Nintendo Game ever published!

Nintendo Revolution Details as they happen:
9:53am (PST)
Marketing talk about beeing a gaming only company, having sold 2 billion games.

Nintendo DS success of having sold 5 million consoles.

Elektroplankton creative software on Nintendo DS presentation.

A guy makes electronic music with the Elektroplankton Nintendo DS software on stage. Sounds quite weird. He uses the stylus to control two Nintendo DS and also has a dj mix pult in the play.

Nintendo Online gaming via wi-fi. Nintendo Wi-fi connection. Nintendo partners with Gamespy as already announced. Free access, no fees. MarioKart and Animal Crossing on DS wireless gaming by year end.

Nintendogs huge success in Japan. Reason for DS success in Japan. Nintendogs US version preview. This is definitly not targeted at me! There is a little ugly dog on the screen and reacts like a tamagotchi. Nintendogs reacts to voice input and stylus input.

Nintendo announces Gameboy Micro! Tiny game consoles as big as a iPod mini. It plays gameboy advance games.

Nintendo Revolution Prototype! The Nintendo Revolution will be smaller when released than shown in photo. 512MB Flash memory, IBM and ATI chips, Nintendo guy stays vage, wi-fi connectivity, Revolution is for every one in the family.

Nintendo Revolution is a virtual game console meaning it can download any Nintendo game that got published ever!

Nintendo shows previews of upcoming games including Zelda and a couple mario games. Wonder if more Revolution details will emerge.

Its over. So Nintendo stays mum about what the Revolution can do on new things. It can play old games and it is for everybody and it connects with the internet. Hope there is more to it. But they did a great job with the Nintendo Gameboy micro - that was a cool surprise and it looks like a winner!
