Apple aknowledged now that the iPod nano screen cracks to easily in some shipped models. Apple will replace defective units.
Apple does not see an issue regarding scratches, and also says that customer support did not get many calls about scratching. On the other hand there was lots of noise and discussion about the easy bruising of the iPod nano.
