Harris Interactive is the company behind the annual poll that seeks to find which name is the one that sticks out most in people's minds as the best brand. This year, the top honors went to Sony. It's not too surprising, since the electronics juggernaut has won this thing for the past 6 years.
The poll involved asking 2,351 adults in the U.S. what the "best brand" was, without a list or anything of that sort. Sony was the most popular answer, with Dell and Coca-Cola grabbing the #2 and #3 spots, respectively. It could be this widespread respect for the company that's the reasoning behind the speculation that the PS3 will sell well in spite of its barrier-worthy $600 price point. Then again, it could just be that all of the surveyed people had Sony Vaio laptops.
The full list is as follows:
1. Sony
2. Dell
3. Coca-Cola
4. Toyota
5. Ford
6. Honda
7. Hewlett Packard
8. General Electric
9. Kraft Foods
10. Apple
