IFA 2006: Mitsubishi HC5000 1080p LCD Projector

Mitsubishi shows the HC5000 full HD (1,920x1,080px) LCD projector at the IFA 2006 and says the HC5000 will sell for 4,000 Euro (~$5,133).

This is I think the way to go 1080p for me. The prices for large full HD Plasma TVs or LCD TVs will stay high for a while. In the meantime full HD home cinema projectors become affordable. The projection image size also benefits more from the higher resolution.
The Mitsubishi HC5000 features a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a brightness of 1,000 lumens, 19dBA (Lamp low mode) and a 50” - 300" image size. The HC5000 features the C2 Fine LCD panel and Silicon Optix Reon VX chip.
More details on the Mitsubishi HC5000 product page and on Heise (German). Shop for HD LCD Projectors.
