Pioneer announces the PD-D6 Super Audio CD player, the A-A9 and the A-A6 amplifier.
These three new Pioneer components are geared toward audiophiles of course. Nobody else is buying SACDs.
Pioneer says that the new devices are reproducing sound as the recording artist indented it.
I have to take Pioneer's word for that, as I am not an audiophile.
The SACD player PD-D6 will sell for 80,000 Yen (~$668). The A-A9 will cost 135,000 Yen (~$1,128) and the A-A6 has a 80,000 Yen (~$668) price-tag. All three new Pioneer components will start shipping early December.
More details in this Pioneer press-release. Buy a SACD player.
