Samsung announces a LED Back Light Unit (BLU) monitor that features up to 114% of the National Television System Committee (NTSC) color gamut dubbed Syncmaster XL20.
The XL20 is for professional desktop publishers, video and photography editors and graphic designers. Normal monitors cover about 82% of NTSC color gamut.
Besides the great color performance the SyncMaster XL20 features 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178 degress FOV, 8ms response time and 1600x1200px max. resolution.The Samsung XL20 LED monitor has a $1,999 MSRP. The press-release does not carry a release date. Samsung competes with the XL20 for instance with the Eizo ColorEdge line of monitors.
