Creative Reinstates FM Recording on Zen Players

A while back Creative decided to release a firmware upgrade that removed the ability to record FM radio on their Zen players. Creative blamed the evil empire…RIAA… for the move.

If you were one of the many that downloaded the firmware without realizing it would stop you from being able to record FM radio, you will be glad to hear that Creative is reinstating the FM record feature. No word on what prompted this move by Creative, though perhaps they decided pleasing customers was more important than pleasing RIAA. The new firmware version to look for is 1.60.01 to replace the 1.50.02 or 1.51.02 that deleted the recording feature. Buy your own Creative media player here. Story and image via DailyTech.
