Skypestyle.com has unveiled the RTX DualPhone 3088, which is a cordless skype phone that allows you to make a Skype call or normal landline call without the need of a computer. This is supposedly a first.
Simply plug the base station into the router and telephone line and that is it says the press-text. I am sure you have to fiddle with the setup menu to tell the phone your skype id and password.
The base station and charging dock are split. This way you do not have to charge your phone where the router is. This is a very good thing, as routers tend to be placed in dark corners at the house where spiders and mice live.
The LCD display of the RTX Standalone Cordless Skype Phone shows your Skype friends/buddies who are online.
The RTX Standalone Cordless DualPhone is available from the SkypeStyle site for £109.99 (~$210). They ship international.
