Having brighter corners is something I see every now and then on LCD displays using the current cold cathode florescent backlights. LED tech has not been adopted for laptop use in the past out of fear of increased power consumption, but it seems that if the rumor is correct HP and Apple have worked this issue out.There is no current word on price increases on models moving to this tech, not are the models that will use the LED backlight mentioned. It would be a safe bet that the tech will first show up on high-end models like the likes of the Macbook Pro. Story and image via Gizmodo.
