What you can do though is play back the HD DVD content and write to BD-R and BD-RE in addition to the usual CD and DVD formats. Blu-ray 50 GB disks can be written as well as 25 GB single layer BD-R disks.This dual format pleasure doesn’t come without some pain which is in the form of the asking price which LG has set at $1200.
