Gizmodo published a review of the Sony PS3 remote control.
Sony offers a Bluetooth remote control for the Sony PS3 to give you a better option to watch movies on the PS3. You can also of course control the movies with the SIXAXIS controller. I tried this already and it is not too bad for the usual things you want to do when watching a movie.
Quote from the review:
"What makes it useful are the dedicated buttons for playback, slow motion, scanning, and track control; there are also dedicated controls for changing angle, audio tracks, subtitles, and pulling up in movie menus.
That's really annoying stuff if you're trying to do it on the SIXAXIS.

Because the PS3 works via Bluetooth you cannot use universal remotes with it.
The Sony BD remote sells for $24.99 on Amazon.
