Two of the biggest game retailers in Europe have
combined forces, after GAME purchased Gamestation
for £74 million. The new powerhouse chain consists
of 217 stores throughout the continent.
It's very similar to several years ago in the US when specialty store competitors GameStop and EB Games joined forces. It's a growing trend that shows just how competitive the world of video game selling is.Both stores will keep their respective names, and consumers shouldn't expect to see any major changed right away. However, as time moves on, things like in-store specials and game prices will become mainstream between the two.
