Toshiba announces the new Qosmio G40 AV Notebook with Centrino Duo chip-set (Santa Rosa).

The new Toshiba Qosmio G40 top model features a HD DVD drive, 320GB HDD, Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 at 2GHz, 1GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 1GB RAM, TV Tuner, HDMI and Wifi.

The new Toshiba Qosmio G40 AV is supposed to ship on May 25th in Japan.

In the U.S. Toshiba announced a Qosmio G45 that also features the NVIDIA 8600M GPA and the Intel Centrino Duo platform. It is not known of options like HD DVD drive and the huge 320GB hdd will be available in the G45. The G45 is slated for release in Q3 2007.
