New York Yellow Cabs go Green with Hybrids

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced to have all cabs in New York would be hybrid cars by 2012.

There are 13,000 licensed yellow cabs in the big Apple. This will not be an easy feat to replace all of them within 5 years with hybrid cars like the Ford Escape Hybrid.Major Bloomberg said: "There's also the matter of getting the taxi industry on board with Tuesday's announcement, but as the licensing and regulatory authority, the city certainly has its share of leverage."
