Not too long ago Alienware, best known for some very nice gaming computers, announced their first media center computer called the Hangar18. The rig is designed to be the centerpiece of your home theater.

HD DVR functionality allows you to record your favorite shows and play them back at up to 1080p via HDMI output. You can option the system with up to 2TB of storage space for many hours of stored programs. The system can have up to four tuners, two standard and two HD to allow you to watch and record multiple programs at once.

A built-in stereo receiver with a 1000w amp and a sub output delivers 5.1-surround sound. The DVD/CD player is a slot load design to save space and both Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g connectivity are possible. The processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core unit with several choices available. Up to 4GB or RAM can be configured in the system as well and the OS is Windows Vista Premium.
