Opera Releases Mini 4 Beta Phone Browser

Today Opera launched a new beta version of Opera Mini 4 codenamed “Dimension.” One of coolest features of the new Opera Mini 4 browser is a new layout mode called PC View. Rather than displaying pages in one single column in a fit-to-width style like your typical phone browser, PC View (known as Desktop layout) a thumbnail of the web page is shown something like what you see on your normal PC.

Then you can choose with the mouse cursor, which is also new to this update, or via a stylus the area of the page you want to zoom in on. You can also zoom into an area and have the text in the area enlarged to fill the entire phone screen for easy reading. A context menu is also added in the update that allows you to press the “1” key and open a menu allowing you to refresh a page or change modes.

Scrolling is accomplished with the “2” and “8” keys for Pc “Page up” and Page” down commands and “4” and “6” for moving the curser between the left and right. The cache in the new version is tweaked too so if different pages of a site use the same images, only new images are needed to be downloaded. Via Opera Watch
