Samsung's first hybrid hard drives will be available for end-user purchase in a week's time reports PC Magazine.
The Samsung 160GB SATA 2.5-inch MH80 notebook drive showed up on a retailer for $299.
The new hybrid drives contain 256MB of flash memory, which is used as a write cache as part of Microsoft's ReadyDrive functionality in Windows Vista.
You are supposed to see a longer notebook battery life and 50% faster boot time.
