I4U Weekend Early Adopter Shopping Tip:
We reported about the new small Sony DSC-U40 in October. Amazon.com has the DSC-U40 now available for pre-order. The tiny Camera will be released February 20th.
The new small sony camera supports the Memory Stick DUO and Memory Stick PRO DUO.
It features like the DSC-U30 2MP CCD chip. It supports to record continous video. The 1" screen is a hybrid LCD that also provides good contrast outside.
The measurements are 82.8x39x26mm and the camera weighs 114g with batteries.
Compared to the Sony DSC-U30 which measures 85x40x29mm the DSC-U40 is a bit smaller.
Still the DSC-U40 cannot reach the Casio Exilim S20 in terms of size.
In the USA the Sony Cybershot DSC-U40 comes in black, silver, red and deep blue colors.
Amazon.com sells the DSC-40 for $199.99 (MSRP: $299.99).
