Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet is big Winner of 2007 IDEA Awards
 
 

The results of the 2007 International Design Excellence Awards (2007 IDEA Awards) have been announced. The awards, sponsored by BusinessWeek, are presented by the Industrial Designers Society of America.

The big winner is the Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet by design firm IDEO and Eclipse Aviation. The Eclipse jet won in IDEA's research, interaction design, and transportation categories.
Overall the Eco Jet got two gold IDEAs and one silver award plus one Catalyst honorable mention. More details about the Eclipse 500 can be found on the Eclipse Aviation site. The Tesla Roadster electric car took the gold with an exciting shape by the Lotus Design Studio in Britain and an all-electric plug-in engine.

Herman Miller and fuse project won silver in design strategy for the LEAF lamp, which uses LED lighting to save energy. The Leaf lamp sells on Amazon.com.

The MAGICWHEELS wheelchair with 2-Gear Manual drive won silver the best new product designs category. more details.
