Creative Introduces Aurvana X-Fi Noise-Canceling Headphones

Creative introduced a new set of headphones today called the Aurvana X-Fi noise-canceling headphones for improved playback on the iPhone, iPod and other portable devices. This is the first set of headphones to use Creative’s X-Fi technology to improve sound quality and deliver virtual surround sound.

The headphones will retail for $299.99 and are available now at Amazon.com. "The Aurvana X-Fi Noise-Canceling Headphones, with our X-Fi Crystalizer(R) and CMSS(R)-3D technologies that dramatically improve audio playback, provide so much more than the noise cancellation in Bose headphones," said Steve Erickson, vice president of audio for Creative. "Noise cancellation sets the stage for an excellent listening experience, and the X-Fi audio technologies up-convert MP3 and AAC music to bring out the best in music and movies."

Creative claims the Aurvana X-Fi headphones cancel out 90% of the ambient noise in the environment. Comfort is improved by using memory foam in the ear cups. Two AAA batteries allow you to use X-Fi technologies at eh same time, but the headphones also work without power as well.
