Today Amazon.com is getting in on the HD DVD discounting action by offering the Toshiba HD-A3 HD DVD player for $199 and giving buyers ten free HD DVD movies. Those with larger budgets can buy the HD-A30 or the HD-A35 and get the ten free movies deal.
The way the deal works is that at the time of purchase you add any three HD DVDs from an Amazon list to your cart, the purchase price of them is discounted at check out. The players come bundled with 300 and The Bourne Identity and the other five films come via the standard mail-in form. Not a bad deal really, you can get your own Toshiba HD DVD player and free movies at Amazon.com.
