We reported about the new portable color printing technology that does not need ink a year ago when Zink appeared at the DEMO 07.
The first Polaroid branded ZINK-enabled product is a pocket-sized mobile printer that produces borderless full color 2x3 inche peel-and-stick ZINK photos from digital cameras and camera phones.
The Polaroid Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer will be available in the first half of 2008. See photos of the Polaroid Printer from CES here.

The key to Zink's instant photo printing is the Zink Paper. ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with cyan, yellow, and magenta dye crystals embedded inside and a protective polymer overcoat layer outside, enabling true ink-free prints. With the Zink technology you only have to refill paper in your printer, no ink cartridges anymore.

Zink also announced partnerships with Alps Electronics, FoxConn, and Tomy to develop Zink enabled products. These partnerships promise to bring lots of ink free printers to the market soon.
