Bioshock Gets 12 AIAS Award Nominations

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences announced its nominees for the 11th annual Interactive Achievement Awards. The nominees for the awards are nominated by peers.

Two FPS titles have dominated nominations this year, Bioshock and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Biohazard has racked up a record number of nominations with 12 in all. "This year's finalists reflect the commitment game makers have to create compelling, engaging and exciting experiences for the expanding game playing audience," said Joseph Olin, president, AIAS. "The 2008 nominees represent the tremendous talent and passion that our members bring to their craft. The Interactive Achievement Awards are dedicated to acknowledging the men and women who create these innovative and excellent games."

Nominees for overall game of the year include Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, Super Mario Galaxy, and The Orange Box. Bioshock was also nominated for console game of the year, computer game of the year, outstanding innovation in gaming and more.
