Best Buy announced that it now has its store brand Insignia Digital convertor Boxes available for the analog to digital transition in 2009. The Insignia convertor box is coupon eligible and will go on sale on February 17, 2008.
Best Buy is launching a dedicated hotline that consumers can call to ask questions about the transition and speak with home theater specialists for help with the conversion. Best Buy also says it has trained staff across the country to be able to assist customers with the digital transition.
“The DTV transition is an event that is unprecedented in this country, and it will require a coordinated effort by broadcasters, manufacturers, retailers and the government," said Mike Vitelli, senior vice president of electronics for Best Buy. "We take our role as a trusted source of information very seriously. We are committed to do whatever we can to help customers find a solution that meets their specific needs." The Insignia convertor box is listed currently for $59.99.
