$99 iPhone 3G with 4GB rumored to sell on Walmart

In October a rumor sprung up that Walmart would offer the iPhone. Now BGR got a tip that Walmart is actually also offering a "low-end" iPhone 3G with 4GB storage for $99.
If you just want to use the iPhone as a smartphone and only occasionally for listening to music or carry videos around 4GB is more than enough. It is just funny to see that in Europe carriers handle the price barrier by giving the iPhone 3G to new customers for free or 1 Euro and in the United States the device itself needs work to make the price drop.
