ASUS announced a new, attractive and very small notebook computer today called the U2E. The notebook features an 11-inch LED backlit display and is clad in leather for better looks. The U2E is handcrafted according to ASUS.

The U2E is more than just a pretty face though with some good features. The system weighs only 2.7 pounds with a built-in DVD-RW drive. ASUS claims the system is the lightest notebook with a built-in DVD drive available.

The notebook runs Windows Vista and ships with 3GB of DDR2 RAM. Two configurations are available for the U2E with one using a 32GB SSD and an external 160GB HDD for $2699 and a second configuration with a 120GB internal HDD for $1999.
