Wired published an interesting article titled: "How Apple Got Everything Right By Doing Everything Wrong". The article hits on all aspects on how Steve Jobs manages Apple. How he treats employees or how their secrecy drives an amazing following in the web.
Most of what Apple does is not what the common trends in management or strategy you should do right now, like be open, have employee blogs, pamper your employees like Google does, etc.
Possibly because they are the only one ticking differently it works so well for them.
