About a year ago a rumor sprung up that Apple would stop the Mac mini. Well, it is still available today. Now a rumor appeared that Apple engineers are working on an update of the Mac mini.
According to information available to Apple Insider, the new Mac mini would adopt the new 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo mobile chips starting at 2.1GHz with 3MB of shared L2 cache, 800MHz front-side bus (up from 667MHz), and Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics processor.
There is clearly a market for the tiny Mac mini, that PC makers see too. Asus has the Nova P22 on the start and soon also a Eee PC Linux version of this small PC box.
