Miss Universe 2012 is Miss USA Olivia Culpo

Olivia Culpo (See Photos) is the new Miss Universe 2012. The United States had to wait over 10 years to celebrate a Miss Universe made in USA. Student Olivia Culpo beat 88 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe 2012 last night.

Over the next year Olivia Culpo will travel the world championing for her cause alliances that focus on HIV/AIDS prevention. According to her Miss Universe profile, Olivia Culpo grew up in Cranston, Rhode Island as the middle child of five. With two avid musicians as parents, her and her siblings each studied different instruments throughout their childhood, Olivia’s choice instrument being the cello. Her other interests include movies, museums, concerts, and making people laugh. One day, Olivia hopes to land a career in either film or television. 

The Miss Universe Pageant, run by Donald Trump, took place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Olivia Culpo won one at home which is adding to the triumph. See the photos of Olivia Culpo at the Miss Universe pageant along with more impressions in the gallery below.
