Sony Computer Entertainment America announced this week that a classic white PS3 game consolebundle will be coming for the first time to the United States and Canada on January 27. The bundle is called the classic whitePS3 Instant Game Collection Bundle and will sell for $299.99.
The bundle includes a year-long membership to PlayStation Plus. The console included in the bundle has a 500 GB hard drive. The PlayStation Plus bundle includes a number of free games that can be downloaded each month.
The PlayStation Plus bundle also gives users early access to betas and automatic updates for games and system software. "PlayStation continues to stand for gamers, and as such, we're excited to give PlayStation fans in North America what they've been asking for - a colored PS3 and access to a library of PS3 games for them to download and play instantly through PlayStation Plus and the Instant Game Collection," said John Koller, vice president of platforms marketing, SCEA. "Gamers are looking for the best value and the best content, and with PlayStation Plus, they'll always have something new to play, choosing from a library of hit games such as inFAMOUS 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2."
Sony has just announced a new, cheaper PlayStation 3 will be launched in Japan on August 28.The new CECH-4300C model packs in 500GB of storage and will be on sale for 25,980 yen, which comes to about £151/$253/AU$272, making it a tad cheaper than the current model.Meanwhile the existing 250GB and 500GB black PS3 models, along with the 250GB white one, will be discontinued.
