Samsung Super Bowl 2013 Ad will be 2 Minutes Long

We knew for a while that Samsung will advertise during the Super Bowl broadcast. Today Samsung started the campaign for the Samsung Mobile Super Bowl 2013 ad and they do it in a big way. The hired famous Hollywood actors Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd for the Samsung Super Bowl 2013 Ad.

The 60-second sneak-peek ad, entitled El Plato Supreme is a lead up to the 2-minute ad (Woah! 2 minutes is about $16million!!!) for the big game on February 3.

“The Big Pitch,” the full 2-minute ad, and an extended cut version with never-been-seen footage will be released later this week. Consumers will have the opportunity to weigh in on their favorite moments and win prizes using the hashtag #TheNextBigThing.

"The anticipation of Super Bowl ads creates a unique consumer experience,” said Todd Pendleton, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Mobile. "'The Next Big Thing' campaign has allowed us the flexibility to tap into significant cultural moments and relevant conversations while showcasing our innovation."

“The Big Pitch” Super Bowl ad features the Galaxy family of products including the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 10.1.

In 2012, Samsung Mobile aired its first Super Bowl ad launching a new category of smartphones with the Galaxy Note. The ad, which was developed by 72 and Sunny, won the Twitter Ad Scrimmage that included 30 brands and 42 spots. The Galaxy Note™ went on to sell 10 million devices globally in 9 months followed by the Galaxy Note II which sold 5 million devices globally in 2 months.

In the teaser video Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd are called in to pitch their ideas for Samsung's Big Game ad for The Next Big Thing, but they run into some hurdles. Watch the funny bit below. I am already excited to see the final Samsung Super Bowl 2013 Ad. I do not expect Samsung to go directly against the Apple iPhone in the Super Bowl ad. It will be though a funny story given the involvement of Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd.

Follow #TheNextBigThing on Twitter and see what unfolds at http://www.facebook.com/SamsungMobileUSA.

Watch all fully released Super Bowl 2013 Ads. About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
