Rumors have surfaced about a coming HTC smartphone called the HTC M7. The smartphone is rumored to have a 13-megapixel image sensor. However, sources are now claiming that the image sensor isn't your typical 13-megapixel unit. According to the rumors, HTC will be using what it calls an Ultrapixel image sensor in the camera.
This image sensor will consist of a trio of 4.3-megapixel sensors the combined results for a single image according to the source. The way the sensor is reported to work would have all the information from images captured by each of the 4.3-megapixel sensors overlaid to create a single image. This technique in other image sensors is being used produce higher resolution photographs with clearer and sharper imagery in better colors.
The so-called Ultrapixel sensor is tipped to be the key feature of the M7 smartphone. We don't have any other details on the smartphone at this time. The official launch with a smartphone is expected to happen on February 19.
