Antibiotics are a gift for humankind, but with big issues. The biggest issue is Antibiotic Resistance. Patients could die of minor infections as antibiotics become useless. According to Reuters Britain's chief medical officer for England Sally Davies said that global action is needed to fight antibiotic, or antimicrobial, resistance and fill a drug "discovery void" by researching and developing new medicines to treat emerging, mutating infections.
