At a press event in New York earlier today, Taiwanese consumer electronics giant, Acer, took the wraps off its latest notebook hybrid dubbed as the Aspire R7. Acer says that the R7 is designed to create the best touch and type experience for notebook users. Featuring a repositioned keyboard and a high-definition touch screen, the R7 uses an “Ezel Hinge” that allows the device to flip, reverse, lie flat, or float.
It sports a 5.6-inch Full HD touch screen display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and it's running Windows 8. Under the hood is an Intel Core i5 processor, 6GB of memory, and a 500GB hard drive or a 24GB SSD. There's also a full-size backlit keyboard, which is also removable. Users can select between four different modes: Ezel mode, notebook mode, display mode, and pad mode. The Aspire R7 will be available via Best Buy for $999.99 beginning May 17th.
