iPad mini 2 Comes in Q3

The iPad mini with Retina display is rumored to be the next new thing from Apple. It is a sure bet that the next iPad mini will have a Retina display like its big brother. Rumors actually pointed to a Spring release of the iPad mini 2. Now analyst Richard Shim from NPD DisplaySearch sees Apple releasing the iPad mini 2 in Q3.

He also says that Apple is following up with an iPad mini 3 in Q1 of 2014. The iPad mini 3 would have a better CPU. Such a release schedule is not ideal for Holiday shopping as iPad mini gifts will become outdate less than 3 month after Christmas. Shim though said that the date is in flux.

The meaning of this report is though that Apple will not announce anything new this month and possibly there will be also no new hardware announcements in June at the WWDC 2013. Apple seems to keep all the new product announcements for fall.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
