Elon Musk Wants Autopilot Systems in Tesla Cars

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced that he has been in talks with Google on integrating autopilot technology into Tesla automobiles. Musk noted that he didn't want autonomous driving technology, which is what Google is mostly known for. He said that he felt like it autopilot style system would be more appropriate for vehicles in the future.

The idea is that the autopilot system will be able to take over for the driver in certain situations, such as heavy traffic. Many auto manufacturers are working on similar technology including GM and others.

Many people see this sort of assisted driving technology is the future and one of the best ways to help alleviate accidents, fatalities on the roads around the country, and traffic. Musk gave no indication of when the autopilot systems might make it into his automobiles.
