LG's next-generation Optimus G series to be powered by Snapdragon 800 processors

LG proudly announced today that its next-generation Optimus G smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's blazing-fast Snapdragon 800 processor.

If you can still recall, the Snapdragon 800 processor was demoed yesterday at a benchmarking exhibition in San Francisco, where in many were compelled to believe that the processor of future mobile devices has finally arrived.

LG seems to be very happy to have the new processor around, calling it the most advanced mobile chipset to date. LG promises 75 percent better performance compared to the previous Snapdragon S4 Pro processor used on the Optimus G.

The company also highlighted several improvements which we have yet to experience including higher speeds with Krait 400 CPUs in quad configuration, enhanced aSMP architecture, 4G LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation, a new Adreno 330 GPU, and Qualcomm's IZat Location technology.

LG, however, did not announce when it will launch the said Optimus G successor.
