Nokia has announced its new Windows Phone 8 device called Lumia 1020 today during an event in New York. Nokia Lumia 1020 41-megapixel smartphone will be first released in US on AT&T with contract. It will be available to purchase in white, black and yellow colors for $299.99 on 26th July.
The all new Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 is officially announced on Thursday by the Finnish company at an event in New York. Nokia has made its Lumia 1020 handset in collaboration with Microsoft. This device will bring revolution in smartphone photography with its big 41MP camera and optical image stabilization supported by WP8 plumbing and UI (user interface). According to Nokia’s VP Kevin Shields, "Our collaboration with Microsoft was super important to making the Lumia 1020 the great product that it is." Nokia Lumia 1020 provides superb picture quality in detail with very easy capture, edit and sharing features. The zoom of its camera is also redesigned with six lens ZEISS optics 41Mp sensor and OIS. The device supports 1080p video resolution with 4x zoom and 720p with 6x zoom.
Nokia Lumia 1020 is now featuring a default Pro Camera app with dual capture facility to capture high resolution images and 5MP images at same time. While the smaller 5MP images can be easily shared on Facebook or on your Windows Phone 8 SkyDrive. Users can also change settings of focus, white balance, ISO, exposure and flash options manually. It also provides new editing options like re-frame and re-zoom one single image into many different images. Image and video capturing in low light provides best results due its optical image stabilization feature. Also its next generation xenon flash can capture image in 1/16,000 of a second at less shutter speed. Nokia Rich Recording feature is also added in it. A wrist strap of leather will also be provided with the device.
Nokia is launching Lumia 1020 in 3 different coloring options: White, Black and Yellow. The company also announced that this Windows Phone will be available for sale in US markets first on July 26th at $299.99 with AT&T contract. But the company will launch it in China and Western Europe in current quarter and have plans of shipping a Telefonica variant in selected European and Latin American markets.
